The mountain resort of Seefeld lies around 22 km west of Innsbruck at an altitude of 1,200 m above sea level. It enjoys a sunny position and a pleasant climate and is easily reached thanks to modern transport links with Germany, Italy and Switzerland. From the Seefeld High Plateau you have a beautiful panorama view of the Wetterstein massif, the Karwendel mountain range, the Central Alps and the Hohe Munde. Seefeld is a first-class holiday destination which is well-known for its sporting facilities. Cross-country and ski-jump events were held here during the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics and the Nordic World Championship took place in 1985.
